Downtown Bass Anglers of Durham Region

Hi Guys.

Wow, what a great past few days. I hooked up with a couple of members, Glen Pickering and Bill Clarke, and we jumped in a boat and went fishing on Friday. We had a great day, with lots of laughs. Glen and I have been working hard updating bio?s, the photo gallery, and creating link?s to make our website more user friendly. We also have links to BFB and KA, so before you hit their site visit ours and give us some feedback.

Ontario Boaters Exam

This Wednesday, Glen Pickering - glenpickering@rogers.com , is organizing a Boaters Exam only night April 1st @ 7pm at the Iroquois. Remember, this will be a requirement as of September 2009, so take advantage while you can. If you are interested in writing the exam only, I would suggest that you take this opportunity to write the test. For those that would like to take a refresher before writing the exam, please email me and I?ll arrange a separate test for those individuals.

April?s meeting will be held on the first Monday, April 6th, 2009. Our guest speaker will be Cory Johnson, and he?ll be speaking on ?How to be a good consistent tournament angler?.

Our first tournament of the year, Perch on Lake Simcoe, is fast approaching. Bill Clarke will be sending out an email regarding our first tourney so keep and eye out for it. We watching the weather and ice conditions closely, and will keep everyone up to date as the event draws closer. I?ve had a few couple of members offer to help with the fish fry, cleaning and cooking fish. Hopefully, we can get a few more. Please email me if you?re interested in helping. Hopefully we get enough interest and we?ll have a great finish to the first event of the year.

With the a handful of new members joining last month, they did not have much time to register for our DTB Tournament Early Bird Program. We will extend the date to April 6th, 2009, our next meeting. Hopefully this will allow everyone an opportunity to take advantage of the deal.

DTB Swag sales are going very well. 17 tourney shirt and over 20 T?s have been ordered. Should be here for May, 2009.

Thanks to all those that have volunteered for the Huck Finn Day on the last Saturday of April in Uxbridge. There is still time if you?re interested in donating your time. As I get more details, I will email everyone separately. Thanks again.
